The Lucy Bowl Commercial Makes History

The Lucy Bowl Commercial Makes History

As a follow-up to my previous post where I tell you about The Lucy Pet Foundation, I wanted to encourage everyone to watch The Lucy Bowl commercial taking place February 1, 2015, during the Super Bowl. Most people know about the Puppy Bowl-held during the Super Bowl, where adoptable dogs show their grid iron prowess. But did you know that there is another animal-based Bowl? This year a new fuzzy critter football bowl-themed commercial will air on the Hallmark Channel, so get ready for the very first Kitten Bowl! The Lucy Pet Foundation’s innovative #DogsVsCats football game commercial will play on Super Bowl Sunday, and will feature some of the most super, amazing high-tech computer generated images ever done staring animals. The commercial is the dream child of The Lucy Pet Foundation founder, Joey Herrick and Sam Nicholson, one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed visual effects wizards. While fun in nature, with dogs and cats playing football, The Lucy Bowl is destined to be one of the most discussed ads of the year – with a goal to educate and change the way we looks at cats and dogs forever. The goal of The Lucy Bowl commercial is to draw attention to the 80,000 pets euthanized each week in shelters across the US, due to overpopulation. Yes, you read that right – 80,000 pets euthanized a week. The message is so powerful, the wonderful folks at The Lucy Pet Foundation allowed me to show you the commercial in full, check it out below, and make sure you tune to the Hallmark Channel to watch for The Lucy Pet Foundation commercial on Sunday February 1, 2015,...
Changing a Life

Changing a Life

So, many of you know that we adopt senior dogs. My momma and dadz love them and the oldies, well they flourish under my parents gentle and caring attention. But why do they adopt senior dogs and how did they initially take this step? Well, it’s all chronicled here – where I talk about my dadz finding a senior Shih Tzu destined to pass likely without being adopted. His name at the time was Mai Tai and well, my parents decided that since the little guy was deaf, and they didn’t want to call out the name of a cocktail whenever they attempted to get his attention, that they would change his name. My parents tried all sorts of names, and the one they settled on? OD, for Old Dude! OD was awesome, amazing, wonderful, and revived anew living with our family. He passed at 17 and we all miss him every day. But we are so thankful to have had the opportunity to love and be loved by our senior rock star OD. Boy, he was so grateful to have been adopted – he showed us his gratitude every day, in everything he did! If you are thinking of adopting a senior I’ve written a great article that addresses things to consider and perhaps do for a ‘new’ oldie that joins your family. Read my article: Senior Animals Adoptions, and leave a message, letting me know what you think. Thanks for listening about OD – he meant the world to us, and he was an amazing ‘older’ brother! Tune In to The Kitten Bowl

Tune In to The Kitten Bowl

Being from the hometown of the 2014 Super Bowl Champions, Seattle Seahawks I’ve seen a lot of great things. All of us dogs in this household, we even wear our #12thMan tee-shirts loud and proud on game days, dadz says that doing so, “brings good luck!” Every Sunday me and my whole family get dressed up in our gear, and spend the day celebrating and acting silly. Why my dadz, he even yells at the players. I’m guessing that helps, but I’m not sure because momma tells him, “ssssshhhh, they can’t hear you!”While my parents ‘whoop whoop’ about it…me, I get treats and see a lot of my animal friends that join us when my parents host parties. But…now comes something new and I’m all curious. So, let me tell you about it. While my family has every belief that the Seahawks will repeat, making it to the big game, I’m more interested in the Lucy Pet Foundation’s groundbreaking #DogsVsCats football game commercial airing on Super Bowl Sunday! From what I’m told by my friends at the Lucy Pet Foundation this commercial, “will feature the most high-tech CGI ever done using animals, and is bound to be among the most discussed ads of the year.” So, while my parents are munching down on half-time goodies it seems that the best Bowl Commercial this year may just be on Hallmark’s Kitten Bowl! Practice Session The Director of the commercial is Sam Nicholson, pretty cool. Sam is one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed visual effects wizards, known best for Heroes, 24, The Walking Dead and Star Trek I. But most importantly, the...
