What a Day Means to Me

I suppose people think that most of the time I’m just laying in our big bay window and staring outside. In a way they’d be right. In a way they’d be wrong. How can they be right and wrong? Well, it depends on what you have as your perspective. “Oh Mattie, I’ve got to hurry up and….,” “What did I do with my keys?” “Why are you taking so long…..?” Momma…. she tries, but most of the time she’s just staring out the window…scurrying about, hurrying to get things done and be places that really won’t matter….in time. Because time is fleeting. Me? Well, I like thinking about the sunshine. How it feels when it hits my face. Warmth slowly cascading over me like a blanket. I’m not in a hurry. Struggling to get things done that won’t be so important tomorrow. I like enjoying the now. Like this day – right now, here with you. Here’s the thing, the key to today. My heart is where my life is taking me. My mind is where my life can divert me. So, when I’m just being…looking out the window – I’m resetting my day….allowing for me to know me. Letting go of all of the aches and pains, the things that remove my ‘presence of mind,’ distract me from my heart’s mission. Every day, take a little bit of time and just look out the window.
